About NMMS Scholarship Scheme 2025

The NMMS is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It aims to support students from underprivileged sections who perform well academically. Under this scheme, students who qualify through the entrance exam will receive a scholarship of ₹1,000 per month for four years, i.e., from Class 9 to Class 12.

The main purpose of this scheme is to reduce dropout rates and ensure that talented students do not abandon their studies due to financial constraints.

Jharkhand NMMS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Jharkhand NMMS 2025, students must fulfil the following conditions:

  • Must be studying regularly in a Government / Government-aided / Model / Project / Minority school
  • Must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Class 7 during the academic year 2023-24
  • Must be enrolled in Class 8 in the current academic year (2024–25)
  • The annual income of the parent/guardian must not exceed ₹3.5 lakh
  • Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, or any other state-run residential schools are not eligible

Note: A relaxation of 5% in academic eligibility is applicable for SC/ST candidates (i.e., they must have at least 50% marks in Class 7)
